but why what will pope gain from it
Bizarre. Is he mentally well? Why doesn’t he kneel in front of the Blessed Sacrament or even genuflect at Mass?
Man kisses the foot of Christ, this man has proven he is not Christ, Benedict is Pope!! That’s why God has kept Benedict Alive! Viva il Papa Benedetto XVI!!
Did chirst not kiss the foot of his disciples after washing it?
If the presidents of all the countries would act in this way, their will be no war on earth. For War is the fruit of pride and hatred. And Peace is the fruit of humility and love.
God Bless our Pope and leader Francis. Thank you for your humility. We love you❤.
I don’t know why, but this makes me weep, literally. Though I am not in the least religious, to see the Pope act with such humility makes me happy and saddened all at the same time. Happy,(not even sure if that is even the right word) that a man with such a position of power is willing to get down and beg, in front of the world for peace and good will, and saddened to know that so many others who have as much power and influence would never be able to bring themselves to such an action. Ego and greed and the constant reaching for power and personal gain, over good stewardship has made this sort of action very difficult … Can you imagine people like Trump or the Queen or any other person of high “status” doing something like this? While there are massive massive problems within the Catholic Church, as well as organised religions, and of course the political structures all over the world, as well as the long arms of mega corporations globally…how many, if any would bend even a knee and indicate beyond the lip service /PR/spin that is so prevalent today a real willingness to put the plight of the everyman ahead of themselves? Humility is not weakness…Only someone with strong character can chose to act in such a way, secure enough in themselves and their faith/ideal to do such as this. This is leadership. The strength to let others know that not everything is about them, but rather for greater whole. Seriously, try to imagine the current American president even understanding what such a public action communicates, let alone him ever being able to contemplate doing it himself..no doubt he would imagine it as being a show of weakness, or debasement… The world might, maybe, be a better place if people were less concerned with image, and more concerned with and motivated to action, compassion and some drive to the right, decent and logical things for those people and thing with whom they have been charged with to care for and preside over… Imagine…
