It comes down to money and time. Church doesn’t want you spending any time or money on something that is not catholic. Has nothing to do with a personal relationship with God. A Catholic who happens to be in the Masons, can’t take communion? Yet priests who molest Children can? Cardinals and Bishops living in super rich accommodations can? Give me a break. I’m Catholic and I just shake my head over crap like this.

Appreciate your response and kind tone. Christ is my only master. The condescending tone and judgement of the other poster was irritating me. That attitude has caused more folks to leave the church than stay or join. God bless you as well

No, we aren’t good at all. I do make sense. The church condones one evil act, then takes a high ground on another. When you take the time to actually understand the power and political history, it’s not surprising. The church is not above criticism. In fact, the argument that you think it is goes against the very teaching of church leaders including the current pope. I guess, when I see the church really address child abuse and wasteful spending, then I’ll give this topic more focus. I’m a 4th degree KofC, father of 5 and married 22 years. Just trying to do the best I can. But, as a Veteran and independent thinker, you can take your attitude and go away.
And, priests abusing power is fact.
