During his weekly general audience, Pope Francis spoke about the cost of withholding forgiveness.

  1. What about the cost of propagating to the world that the Catholic faith is nonsense and that it is not necessary for salvation? Eternal hell.

  2. Forgiving is enough papa. What will you all do if Islamic state attack Vatican. You may sit in your chair and pray but I would take up my cross of defending my family , which is the Church. Don’t make Christians spinelesss

    1. An individual may forgive but only a legal body which has authority to condemn could pardon. It is not against church teaching for a state to fight to the death to protect its citizens. In fact it is required

  3. It is true! I experienced God’s mercy through forgiveness on me and also on my mother. She didn’t remembered her sins, or her recentment on others but her tears on her last Mass showed her repentance, and she died peacefully. God’s grace is enough if we just be open and humble enough to say,” Lord help me to forgive so and so.” Great reminder, Holy Father!
