“Son of man has no place to lay his head”. Very simple, Jesus and his disciples did not have a house, a parish, or a church, or a golden ring on his hand, Pharisees did, or a beautiful robe.. Jesus was walking (not driving a car) from place to place, to teach people, to tell them to be good, and how. Literally, Jesus didn’t have a housekeeper, slept wherever, on the ground, ate whatever people gave him. Jesus said I came to serve not to be served. “Leave dead to burry dead”, leave people who don’t have faith to burry dead, don’t waste your time, when you can be teaching, helping people to get to heaven.
Thank Lord for teaching us through the Sacred Scriptures.
Gen 18:16-33
Gen 18:32b “What if there are at least ten there?
He replied, “For the sake of those ten, I will not destroy it.”
Thank You Lord that you have revealed to us who you are, a most merciful and most loving God. You are gracious
and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love and kindness. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is your love for those who fear you. How awesome You are Abba Father!
Lord, thank you for the inspiring example of Abraham who had a fine relationship with you and able to pray boldly and fluently before You. We want to have this kind of relationship with you.
Matthew 8:22
But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Lord, gives us faith to truly believe and trust in you. Give us strenght to follow you. Help us to cast our doubts behind us.
